Batu Caves

A huge limestone cave, 400 metres long and 100 metres high, a sacred site for Hindus in Malaysia. This is where the Thaipusam festival is held and nearly a million visitors come to the caves, and pierce their skin (see link above). The festival had just ended few days before we arrived. There were still a few devotees climbing the 272 stairs to the entrance and lots of monkeys.
