Off to Korea!
Shortly after graduation (and a few monthsin Calgary) I accepted a teaching position in Mokpo, South Korea. I got here last Sunday, on a flight from Toronto, with a group of about 50 other people who had signed on to teach English in the Jeollanamdo Province public school system through a company called Canadian Connections. We left Toronto at midnight Friday, and landed 14 hours later outside Seoul at 2 a.m. on Sunday... it was dark the whole way. Strange to have lost Saturday so completely. At the airport we loaded massive amounts of stuff into busses and settled in for another 5 hours to Gwangu. As the sky gradually lightened, a land of misty mountains was majestically unveiled. The sun rose amidst pink and orange streaked clouds and in our three bright red busses excitement and exhaustion alternated. When we finally arrived, our hotel looked beautiful.
